DPCM 116     Junkers D-I
The 9th design by Hugo Junkers, the J-9, appeared in October 1917. Powered by a
160 h.p. Mercedes engine, it was entered in the fighter competitions of 1918. The Army ordered it built as the D-I.  Because of lack of experience with the aircrafts
then unconventional metal construction, only 41 were completed and delivered to the front before the Armistice in November 1918. The aircraft featured a number of unique innovations, one of which was a full cantilever wing.

Our kit (DPCM 116) captures this lesser known German fighter in miniature.
